It offers hands-on exposure to statewide payroll systems and cross-agency coordination, making it an excellent opportunity to build foundational experience in public-sector payroll and human resources operations.Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, this position performs routine (journey-level) payroll processing work in the Payroll section of the Human Resources Division. Work involves, but is not limited to: preparing employee payrolls in the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) in compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; maintaining payroll records; providing assistance and information; and coordinating with agency staff, third-party vendors, and oversight agencies to ensure accurate and timely payroll operations. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
