Senior Solution Architect – Analytics & AI Applications  The Data Assets, Analytics & AI team at Bayer Consumer Health focuses on bringing digital transformation and innovation by creating best in class analytical solutions enabling data-driven decision making and performance optimization for Bayer Consumer Health organization.You will be part of the Analytics & AI organization and are responsible for designing the solution architecture of data analytics applications. You partner with business stakeholders, application developers, Data Scientists, DevOps engineers and data architects to build scalable web applications that enable our business functions to explore and interact with analytical data and AI models. You collect functional and non-functional requirements and ensure the architecture complies with our technology stack. In addition, you will define standards for application developments and ensure that Dev/Ops best practices are applied. If you are interested in joining a young and dynamic team driving the digital transformation of Bayer Consumer Health, we would like to hear from you. Key Tasks & Responsibilities: Lead the technical implementation of state-of-the-art cloud native data analytics & AI applications such as advanced data visualization tools, data and/or AI-heavy business process applications for e.g. forecasting, data maintenance applications, AI chatbots etc. Work closely with data scientists, AI-engineers, full stack application developers, data architects, dev/ops engineers and product managers to define project scope and deliverables Assess and translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical concepts in alignment with business objectives and user needs considering robustness, scalability, re-usability, cost efficiency, performance, security & data privacy requirements Assess, recommend and lead the creation of reusable components and tools to meet the requirements of assigned projects (e.g. UI components, authentication handler, handling database connections) Partner with data scientists and AI-engineers to assess frameworks and tools (e.g. vector databases, LLM integration frameworks) Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in application engineering Collaborate closely with the cloud platform team to continuously enhance the technology stack of our global cloud-based data, analytics and AI platform Support prototypes and proof-of-concept applications with architecture concepts and validate design concepts and technologies Produce comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and user manuals Together with the product owner steer application developers, guide them as architects, provide cost and time estimations, challenge vendor costs, assure quality delivery and proper handover to support   Qualifications & Competencies (education, skills, experience): Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar 5+ years' working experience in the field of cloud native application architecture (Azure), expert in concepts like microservices, containerization/docker, serverless computer, event-based architectures and service mesh architectures. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Azure services for web application development: Azure Container Apps, Azure functions, Azure SQL, Storage accounts, Azure functions, as well as good understanding of frameworks/components used for application development in Python (e.g. Django, Flask, FastAPI) and JavaScript UI Frameworks (React.js, Next.js) Experience with data analytics & AI specific services and concepts is a plus (Azure Databricks, MLFlow, Vector Databases, RAG, AI foundry and frameworks to build AI agents, forecasting and optimization models). Expert in GitHub ecosystem including the VCS, GitHub Actions for CI/CD and working with tickets/issues and pull requests. Understanding ML/Ops practices is a plus. Experience in applying Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Strong problem solving and analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgement. Interpersonal and communication skills, active listening, consulting, challenging, presentation skills. Being able to explain complex solutions to various stakeholders.
