Paid Internship in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering

Employment based in Switzerland at Cemex Innovation Holding ag, Brügg BE;

Yearly internship program from February 2026 till January 2027

Position purpose

The Global Operations and Technology department (GO&T) is a core team inside Cemex Innovation Holding AG based in Switzerland. The GO&T team handles and / or supports all production technology related projects of the company worldwide.

Its mandate is two folded: On one hand it provides high level support to all Cemex cement operations worldwide for the design and deployment of novel collaboration practices and knowledge management tools, and on the other, it is responsible to propose and develop new materials and technologies and to provide insight and evaluation of available technologies with regards to the relevancy to the company.

Activities:

• Support the Production of Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs) at laboratory scale by:
  • Preparing different types of Cementitious Materials and activating, investigating, analysing, and testing these materials as potential options for the cement industry.
  • Producing enhanced materials through different grinding technologies.
• Development of new blended cements by combining different natural and synthetic materials to design new cement products with superior performance and characteristics and contributing to CO₂ footprint reduction.
• Support the preparation of Cemex global interlaboratory assessment program (ARE), contributing to the improvement and maintenance of product quality assurance worldwide.
• Support Cemex Global Operations in CO₂ Footprint Reduction and determine the CO₂ content levels in different materials.

Our requirements:

• Knowledge of spoken and written English at least B2 level,
• Student status/ PhD student status,
• Education in the field of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering etc,
• Ability to work in diverse teams.
• Documents required for application: Personal CV, personal letter of motivation,
• Documents nice to have: professor’s letter of recommendation, validation of English fluency.
