We’re currently looking for a freelance Linux Embedded Engineer to join a specific IoT project to work on firmware and software development for a new connected device. The work is fully remote, with flexible hours, and we are open only to B2B/freelance cooperation. This engagement is ideal for an experienced and independent engineer who is available either part- or full-time shortly and interested in contributing to a focused, impactful project.You’ll be working as the sole Firmware Engineer on the project, taking full ownership of the embedded side. You’ll be in direct contact with the US-based client, so we’re looking for someone who’s not only an expert in their field, but also communicative, proactive, and able to drive the topic forward independently. Very good spoken and written English is a must.About the projectYou’ll be working on an IoT device, collaborating with a hardware team to bring up a new platform, adapt the embedded Linux stack (based on Yocto/Buildroot), and ensure device readiness for a demo in early October.Requirements min. 3 years of experience in embedded systems development with C/C++ hands-on and recent experience with Linux build systems (Yocto or Buildroot) deep understanding of the Linux kernel, device drivers, bootloaders (esp. U-Boot) experience with hardware bring-up and reading schematics familiarity with debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) strong communication skills and proactive mindset English at B2+ level
