  • Senior stakeholder management skills. You will interact with senior managers and hiring managers on a daily basis.

  • Solid Business Management knowledge. We don’t measure experience in years, but you must show that you really know what you are doing with respect to headcount & financial management.

Your career opportunity

As part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) Business Management team, you will lead all workforce

management activities for the global Operational Resilience and Enablement team.

Ops Res & Enablement is part of HSBC’s Chief Technology Office (CTO) – supporting the technology

infrastructure used by the rest of the bank to run applications & services. Ops Res & Enablement has a global

headcount of ~1,000 FTE, and a workforce budget of ~$100m USD.

Your responsibilities

  1. Deliver an exceptional service to the Ops Res & Enablement Executive Committee and their Hiring Managers – supporting them to achieve their objectives, whilst balancing against financial & headcount constraints.
  2. Maintain an accurate headcount plan / forecast; highlighting any risks to meeting headcount targets & providing options to mitigate.
  3. Contribute to the overall annual financial plan / forecast for workforce costs; highlighting any risks to meeting financial targets & providing options to mitigate.
  4. Lead the approval process for new headcount requests – applying a reasonable level of critique, whilst ensuring approvals are secured at-pace.
  5. Interface with external vendors to maintain existing relationships & identify new opportunities for resourcing.
  6. Support transformational programmes & strategic initiatives (eg: benefit delivery, diversity & inclusion, location strategy, organisational design).
