The Foundation Engineering Platform PaaS team creates products and services that enhance efficiency across the organization. Our mission is to provide secure, cost-effective solutions along with complete development platforms and tools. We focus on both the details and the bigger picture to deliver the best possible outcomes. To support this, we're looking for a skilled Senior Java Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on development role, where you'll be responsible for building security services and libraries that address key technical challenges. Your work will help set high standards for quality and reliability within our team.

What will you do:

• Design, develop and maintain cloud-based applications using Java and associated frameworks (e.g. Spring, Spring Boot)
• Review solutions for alignment with the stated goals of Foundation Engineering
• Advocate for and meet high professional standards of development primarily in Java
• Deliver appropriate and comprehensive tests as part of every deliverable
• Approach technical challenges with an open collaborative mindset
• Take initiative to improve the developer experience and efficiency

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer
• Hands on experience with Spring and Spring Boot
• Hands on experience withAWS
• Able to articulate a clear understanding of event-driven architecture patterns
• A strong grasp of functional, non-blocking, asynchronous code
• Security software related experience is desired
• Comfortable choosing and applying appropriate testing approaches

Nice to have

• Performance testing knowledge
• Prior experience of Istio, Kubernetes
• Experience securing APIs at scale
