Comprehensive English language skills, especially written skills
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Technical Writer in a high-tech environment (networking experience preferred).
Experience with topical authoring and XML authoring tools. Markdown/docs as code experience a plus
Experience with common online help formats, including web help
Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and investigative skills
Practical knowledge of topic-based authoring and content reuse
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
Willingness to collaborate with geographically distributed engineering teams

Your responsibilities
As a Technical Writer, you will collaborate with a global technical documentation team to develop high-quality hardware and software documentation for Adtran products.
Support the development and maintenance of online help, software and hardware guides, and other technical documentation as needed
Adhere to departmental and company standards, including writing style, content organization, file maintenance, and release processes.
Define, gather, and analyze customer requirements for user documentation
Work with developers and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of application and equipment documentation
Validate procedural and reference content against the product to ensure accuracy and usability
