Czym będziesz się zajmować? We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Data Engineer to join the Global Data & AI function within the Data Engineering department of Data Management. This team’s mission is to embed data and AI capabilities into the core of our operations, building a connected, high-quality, and future-ready data landscape that supports strategic goals across the organization.In this role, you will:Provide technical leadership and direction for multiple teams, fostering innovation and best practices in enterprise data engineering.Shape and execute the enterprise-wide data strategy, working closely with both business and technology stakeholders.Lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance data pipelines, platforms, and products, ensuring alignment with FAIR data principles.Set and refine data management standards, governance processes, and quality frameworks.Oversee the implementation of cloud-based solutions (Azure/AWS) and advanced analytics platforms (Databricks).Translate complex business needs into efficient, forward-looking technical solutions.Mentor and develop engineering talent, driving continuous improvement and transformation.This position is remote, with occasional in-person workshops or meetings in Warsaw or Copenhagen.

Essential qualifications and experience:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data, Information Management, or related field (PhD a plus).12+ years in software/data engineering, including 6+ years leading enterprise-scale initiatives.Advanced expertise in data modeling, integration, metadata management, and governance.Proficiency in Azure and/or AWS (cloud certifications highly valued).Strong experience with Databricks, Python, and advanced SQL.Proven background in DevOps/CI-CD practices for data solutions.Familiarity with regulatory requirements in life sciences.Experience applying Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI to data workflows.Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
