Your responsibilities

• As a key member of our technical team, you'll play a crucial role in the stability, performance, and security of our web applications. Your responsibilities will include:
• Web Application Maintenance & Optimization: Ensuring our web applications are always up-to-date, performing optimally, and running efficiently.
• Monitoring & Alerting: Proactively monitoring application health, identifying potential issues before they impact users, and responding to alerts.
• Deployment Management: Streamlining and executing application deployments, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
• Automation & Tooling: Developing and implementing automation scripts and tools to reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and enhance our infrastructure.
• Performance & System Problem Solving: Diagnosing and resolving complex application and database performance issues, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.
• Application Security: Implementing and maintaining security patches and best practices to protect our applications and data from vulnerabilities.

Our requirements

• 1+ year experience as a DevOps Engineer or Systems Administrator
• Strong Linux expertise: You're comfortable navigating, managing, and troubleshooting Linux-based systems.
• Trouble-shooting/Problem Solving skills: You can effectively diagnose complex technical issues and implement lasting solutions.
• Database experience (especially MySQL): Familiarity with database administration, including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting database queries.
• Team Player & Collaborative Spirit: You genuinely enjoy helping others, sharing knowledge, and working together to solve problems.
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication in English: Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively in a distributed team.
• Experience in a Distributed Work Environment: You're adept at working remotely and collaborating effectively with colleagues across different locations.
• Understanding and experience with Open Source eLearning Technologies: Familiarity with platforms like Moodle or Totara is a significant plus.
