About the project

• We are looking for a Testing Lead to join the Digital Business Automation team within CTO Infrastructure. You will be responsible for defining and maintaining the testing strategy across a portfolio of automation and file transfer services that operate globally and span various technologies — including Linux/Oracle-based platforms, mainframe systems, and microservices on Internal Cloud.
• In this role, you will guide the implementation of best practices, introduce automation, and support teams in achieving consistent, high-quality delivery. This is a hands-on, individual contributor position with a strong focus on influencing engineering behaviours and ensuring that testing becomes an integral part of our software lifecycle.

Your responsibilities

• Define and continuously improve test strategy, standards, and governance across teams.
• Introduce and scale test automation practices using modern frameworks and pipelines.
• Guide teams in adopting shift-left testing approaches throughout the SDLC.
• Review and optimise test coverage, test data management, and defect handling processes.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to embed testing into CI/CD workflows.
• Ensure appropriate testing is in place across various technology stacks (Linux/Oracle, mainframe, microservices).
• Provide mentoring and guidance on test engineering principles and tooling.
• Support audits and risk reviews with documentation and traceability of testing processes.

Our requirements

• Strong experience in software testing, including strategy development and automation leadership.
• Proficiency with modern testing frameworks and integration into CI/CD (e.g. Selenium, JUnit, REST Assured).
• Familiarity with diverse technology stacks (Linux/Oracle, mainframe, APIs, microservices).
• Proven ability to standardise and scale testing approaches in complex environments.
• Hands-on experience in test automation design, maintenance, and execution.
• Knowledge of quality metrics, risk-based testing, and agile testing methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence quality culture across distributed teams.
