About the project

• We are hiring a Cloud Security Architect to support a financial services client in the UK. The role focuses on designing secure, compliant, and scalable cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a remote position aligned with EMEA working hours, requiring strong collaboration with architecture, security, and compliance teams in a regulated industry context.

Your responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures tailored for financial services (FSI)
• Define and enforce IAM policies, network security models, and data protection strategies
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, FCA guidelines)
• Conduct risk assessments and advise on security posture improvements
• Support security audits, threat modeling, and incident response planning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud architecture with security best practices
• Present security solutions and recommendations to stakeholders and decision-makers

Our requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud security or architecture roles
• Strong knowledge of GCP, including IAM, VPC, DLP, and workload protection
• Experience working in or with regulated industries, ideally financial services
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to FSI (e.g., BAU, PCI DSS, ISO)
• Proactive approach to threat modeling, security design, and governance
• Strong communication and documentation skills in English
• Ability to work independently in distributed, international teams
• Professional Cloud Architect (PCA) or equivalent cloud security certification required
