About the project

• Global Risk Analytics (GRA) is a global team responsible for development of risk models for broad classes of financial and operational risks at HSBC. We are tasked with setting standards and providing mission-critical, cutting-edge tools to help identify, measure and manage risk, as well as enhance an enterprise-wide compliance across HSBC.
• This role is responsible for working with Traded Risk Financial Engineering team. The role will consist of robust development and maintenance of the user interface and backend services for computational software. Additionally, the role will involve support the ongoing development and integration of quantitative library which includes risk models and methodologies that are under remit of the GRA Traded and Operational (TnO) Risk Analytics team. The role is a mid/senior role in Kraków-based team.

Your responsibilities

• Implement scalable backend services and APIs using Python.
• Develop and maintain UI components using Dash, Next.js and Django.
• Contribute to the implementation, testing of a reusable quantitative library.
• Closely collaborate with GRA Quantitative Modellers, IT teams and Front Office to create synergies across different functions and departments.

Our requirements

• Experience in enterprise development in Python.
• Intermediate knowledge of Python 3.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Dash, Next.js and templating in Django.
• Understanding of software architectural patterns.
• Knowledge of application development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with agile practices.
• Understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, secure web applications practices.
• Fluent English (both written and spoken).
• Ability and flexibility to work in international team.
