About the project

• As a Senior Python Developer (Django), you will contribute to the development of a large-scale academic information system, replacing a legacy platform used for managing educational programs and student processes at a major European university.
• You will be part of an international team building a strategic web application based on Django, with responsibilities spanning from development to architecture discussions. The project is modular, time-sensitive, and governed by external academic and regulatory constraints, making code quality, maintainability, and domain integrity essential.
• This role includes close cooperation with internal developers and domain experts, using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to ensure scalability, robustness, and clear alignment between business needs and technical design.

Your responsibilities

• Design and implement new application modules using Django and Python
• Develop REST APIs and optimize performance for high-volume academic operations
• Write and maintain unit tests aligned with domain logic
• Apply DDD principles in collaboration with domain experts and stakeholders
• Mentor internal teams on Django best practices and frontend integration
• Support rich-client development strategies using modern JS frameworks
• Collaborate with backend and integration teams to ensure interoperability with enterprise systems

Our requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Python and Django development
• 2+ years of experience working in Domain-Driven Design environments
• Proficiency with at least 3 of the following technologies: Django Rest Framework, PostgreSQL, Git, Vue.js, Angular, or React
• Solid understanding of design patterns and test strategies
• Experience in complex, modular, and performance-sensitive systems
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with international teams
• Fluency in French at a minimum C1 level, confirmed with a valid certificate
• Communicative level of English

Optional

• Prior experience in educational or public-sector digital platforms
• Familiarity with enterprise integration (e.g., via ESB)
• Exposure to rich-client application architecture
