Your responsibilities

  • We seek a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will drive the development of robust mechanical solutions to transform our innovative bio-separation prototypes into reliable products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, with a particular interest in productization and manufacturing scale-up. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary teams (R&D, product management, and manufacturing) to refine designs and solve engineering challenges. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the engineering team and will work closely with colleagues and external partners to mature the technology toward market-ready solutions. This position is based in Poznań, Poland, and requires openness to international travel.
  • • Lead the mechanical design and productization of core bio-separation technology components, translating prototypes into manufacturable products with high reliability and performance.
  • • Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation and design standards (CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, etc.) to ensure clarity and reproducibility across projects.
  • • Coordinate prototype fabrication and mechanical testing, analyze results, and iterate on designs to meet technical and cost requirements.
  • • Collaborate with cross-functional roles (R&D, product management, and manufacturing) to define mechanical specifications and solve engineering challenges during product development.
  • • Engage with suppliers and manufacturing partners to evaluate production techniques, including injection molding, CNC machining, precision 3D printing, and photo-etching, and to select optimal materials and processes.
  • • Manage make-vs-buy decisions for mechanical components, working with procurement and supply-chain partners to balance performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • • Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing best practices and promoting technical excellence within the engineering team.
  • • Participate in design reviews, project planning, and technical meetings to align engineering efforts with company goals.
  • • Demonstrated experience in working effectively with external suppliers and subcontractors.

Our requirements

  • • MSc or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • • At least 6 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or product development roles, gained at a minimum of two distinct companies or organizations. Proven track record of taking engineering designs from concept to production at scale
  • • Experience with mechanical prototyping, testing, and validation methodologies
  • • Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability principles
  • • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, covering both traditional industrial methods and microscale or precision manufacturing
  • • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, with experience in: Mechanical parts design, technical drawings and documentation, structural load simulation
  • • Familiarity with European engineering standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
  • • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • • Willingness to travel internationally (up to ~15% of the time)
  • Nice to have:
  • • Experience in bio-production, food production, or pharmaceutical industry environments.
  • • Basic knowledge of electrical and automation engineering.
  • • Established network or working relationships with mechanical workshops in the Wielkopolska region.
  • • Familiarity with precision fabrication techniques such as photo-etching.
  • • Experience working in a start-up environment.
  • • Experience with flow simulation or CFD tools.

What we offer

  • A dynamic and innovative work environment within a rapidly growing scale-up company committed to enabling the bio-economy revolution through industrial-scale continuous bioprocessing.

  • The opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team dedicated to driving innovation in the bio-processing industry.
