Requirements description

Skillset, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Skills: Basics of electrical engineering: Ohm's law, direct current, alternating

current, electrical circuits, electrical components.

  • PV/Solar technology and systems: PV/Solar- inverters, -modules, -monitoring &

control, as also storage and e-mobility systems, standards and normative

requirements.

  • Basic knowledge of mathematics: Basic arithmetic operations, basic

quantities/units, multiples and parts of units, mathematical signs.

  • Telecommunication: Network technology, interfaces (IP LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi,

Bluetooth, RS485), internet web browsers.

  • Customer focus and a service-oriented attitude are required.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.

  • Proficiency in the languages described per supported country both written and

verbal, is required.

Knowledge & Ability:

  • Good overview of the SMA Solar Technology product families Home & Business

Solutions

  • Good knowledge on hardware and software (PC/Peripherals)

  • Ability to communicate on the phone and online with customers while taking

detailed notes is required

  • Ability to communicate on the phone and online with customers while taking

  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.

  • Ability to continue learning, using manuals and SMA trainings and presentations.

  • Ability to analyse and solve technical problems and to protocol these steps.

  • Ability to find out the root cause of a failure

  • Ability to work under time pressure and stress.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Teams is

preferred.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

Possible candidate profile backgrounds are:

  • Electronics Technician (electrically skilled person, based on DIN VDE 1000-10

qualified Electrician

  • Electronics Technician for Building System Integration

  • Plant Mechanic for Sanitary, Heating, and Air Conditioning Technology

  • Information Electronics Technician

  • Radio and Television Technician

  • Possibly Mechatronics Technician

  • Studies (even if not completed) in example in: Information and Communication

Technology, Electrical Engineering, Building Climate Technology, Mechanical

Engineering, Business Informatics, Climate System Technology, Computer

Science

  • Sufficient prior experience in comparable projects (with proof).

Required languages:

German – min. C1

English – Advanced (B2-C1)

Your responsibilities

  1. Maintains the technical after sales support of the Service Line and uses communication and troubleshooting skills to provide customer support to mainly electrical PV installers / PV professionals of SMA Solar Technology AG. Provides technical support on several SMA product and customer groups.
  2. Resolve >90% of your contacts without involving other people.
  3. Ability to follow technical troubleshooting guides and technical knowledge to determine technical / procedural resolution or escalation path.
