What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Experience in Java back-end development with HTTPS, RESTful API, micro-services and MQ (5+ years).
• Practical understanding and experience in high-availability service architecture.
• Solid experience in SQL and at least one mainstream database (preferably in Postgres SQL/Clickhouse), with basic knowledge in database performance.
• Experience of owning or leading the delivery a Java-based service / module.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Curiosity and passion in technology, updating your knowledge and have own technical expertise.
• Ability to deal with pressure and calmness in urgent / stressing situation.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

We're Markets & Securities Services IT Poland, a technology department providing technology services and solutions for the Investment Bank businesses at HSBC. Systems we create enable transactions across multiple asset classes. Our teams work in partnership with the business counterparts to deliver high-throughput systems, from low latency trading applications to large Microservices platforms. We also perform architecture and cloud migrations.

Join us to work with talents from different geographical locations in the world class Global FX Calculations team to develop, improve and maintain the bank's own solution and platform for post-trading risk and PnL calculation which plays a critical role in trader's day-to-day activity and the bank's fulfilling to regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities

1. Work with project team to perform end-to-end delivery of the project by finishing the assigned task within agreed timeframe and quality, including requirement analysis, coding, testing (manually and automated), releasing, documenting and defect fixing with required visibility.
2. Deliver detailed design specification for the project development such as data model, interfacing and performance and elaborates the details to the team.
3. Production support and incident reaction as part of the global team.
4. Take ownership of system component, or initiative of proof-of-concept, problem resolving or performance tuning, and support other team members in the owning expertise area.
5. Participate and contribute to team's solution design, problem investigation and design / code review with alternative solution, perspective and idea.
6. Participates and support team’s events / activities and helps in team’s continuous improvements in delivery productivity, collaboration and visibility.
