• A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of professional experience
• Proven ability to build and optimize large-scale web architectures.
• Strong understanding of server-side rendering (SSR), hydration, and web frameworks like React or Next.js.
• Good knowledge of backend programming languages such as Java or Golang
• Proficiency in an RDBMS like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server, bonus points for experience managing big data
• Proven experience and understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms

Your responsibilities

1. Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, web and mobile app.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, marketing specialists, ML engineers to empower high-impact referrals campaigns.
3. Address technical debt of the existing referrals platform, focusing on refactoring and optimizing legacy code to improve maintainability, performance and scalability.
4. Optimize platform performance for high availability and low-latency, ensuring reliability to support global customer bases.
5. Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, deploying updates and bug fixes to ensure seamless functionality and continuous improvement.
6. Support the referral team through a rotating on-call schedule.
