Requirements description

What you need to have to succeed in this role

  • 5 years of experience with at least 3 years in programme/ project management role on complex projects across countries or regions.
  • Understanding of the Programme and Project lifecycle; including working knowledge of standard Waterfall and Agile Project Management methodologies, PMO processes and best practice techniques. Knowledge and/ or experience of HSBC’s Change Framework would be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, proposing solutions when escalating.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, confidence to provide check and challenge where appropriate.
  • Experience with running meetings in English over video or teleconference.
  • PMP or MSP training or certification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and client-centric mindset, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information across a diverse portfolio of change.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word skills.
  • Strong knowledge of business change – functionally, operationally, and financially.
  • Good financial and commercial acumen and the ability to understand and contribute to business cases. Includes ability to appreciate complex business problems and apply commercial sense.

Currently, we are looking for a candidate for the position of Programme and Project Services Manager supporting UK CMB Transformation. UK CMB Transformation is at the centre of shaping, delivering, and embedding change and executing against UK CMB’s strategic change agenda, working with the business and our delivery partners. We act as trusted partners, add value, and provide insight driven data across Portfolios, Programmes and Projects.

Your responsibilities

  1. Partner a Portfolio/ Programme Manager or Director and a PMO Manager in successfully delivering a new or in-flight portfolio/ programme.
  2. Collaborate closely with the programme team, they will act as a source for guidance, provide governance reporting and metrics for the programme and assist its leadership in making strategic decisions.
  3. Support the Head of Governance and Market Implementation and wider portfolio team in building out the PMO capability.
  4. Support specific major programmes to provide comprehensive and accurate MI/reporting of programme and financial information to enable effective decision making by key stakeholders.
  5. Assess project change requests considering their implications for scope, benefits, cost, timeline, and dependencies, develop an effective working relationship with appropriate stakeholders to ensure accurate portfolio information is provided.
