Requirements description

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience supporting Java-based applications in a high-availability, large server environment.
  • Hands-on expertise in Unix/Linux systems, including scripting and performance tuning.
  • Solid working knowledge of SQL for troubleshooting and querying databases.
  • Understanding of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) internals, tuning, and log analysis.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and debugging complex application issues.
  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes environments and containerized deployments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Kafka or other messaging platforms.
  • Experience using monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Application Support Engineer with a strong background in production support for large-scale enterprise applications. This role focuses on managing incidents, ensuring system stability, and collaborating across teams to maintain and improve application performance within a high-volume production environment.

Your responsibilities

  1. Provide L2/L3 support for enterprise-level Java applications in a production environment.
  2. Manage production incidents end-to-end, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact.
  3. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to avoid recurring issues.
  4. Support ITSM processes such as incident, change, and problem management.
  5. Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams for application maintenance and upgrades.
  6. Monitor application health using tools like Grafana and Splunk and proactively identify performance bottlenecks.
