Job description

We are seeking an experienced API Architect who will serve as the technical point of reference in the organization, setting the vision, principles, and best practices for API design and governance. Your mission will be to ensure consistency, high quality, and scalability of our platform.

Key responsibilities

  • Define architecture strategy and standards for REST, gRPC, GraphQL, versioning, security (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC), observability, and SLAs.

  • Create style guides, templates, and linters that enable consistent microservice development.

  • Advise product and engineering teams throughout the API life-cycle: discovery, API-first design, reviews, deployment, and deprecation.

  • Lead design-review boards (ADRs) and architecture committees.

  • Evangelize best practices through workshops, living documentation, and pair-design sessions.

  • Select and govern the API-management platform (Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, etc.) and contract tooling (OpenAPI / Swagger).

  • Define success metrics and dashboards for API quality, reliability, and usage.

  • Research trends (AsyncAPI, API monetization, event-driven patterns) and translate them into technical roadmaps.

Technical requirements

  • 8+ years designing and building large-scale APIs; 3+ years as an architect or tech lead.

  • Expert in contract-first design with OpenAPI 3.x and JSON Schema.

  • Proficient in Python, Java, and Go (able to read, review, and propose patterns in all three).

  • Deep knowledge of microservices, Kubernetes, and service meshes (Istio / Linkerd).

  • Experience with Git-based CI/CD, contract testing (Prism, Dredd), and load testing (k6, Gatling).

Key competencies

  • Systems thinking and platform vision.

  • Cross-functional influence and leadership.

  • Clear communication with both technical and business audiences.

Why Join Us?

  • Flexible Remote Work

  • B2B contract

  • Possibility of using a coworking space in Cracow (with access to prosecco from a tap and a billiard table ;))

  • Private medical care package and Multisport card

  • Quarterly integration events

  • Positive atmosphere created by our super team - open-minded, eager to help people who are truly committed to what they do and who build relationships based on mutual respect and good humor
