About the project:

This platform will empower customers with next-generation capabilities, offering seamless account access, diverse asset types like shares, ETFs, and mutual funds, and personalized investment portfolios tailored to individual goals. Built on the HSBC Mobile platform using the PlatformHub framework, it ensures scalability, security, and efficiency. What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications for Android banking platforms

• Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and best practices

• Buildup pipelines and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities

• Setting up monitoring, alerting

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

• Write clear technical documentation

• Support the deployment and monitoring of applications in production

• Study deployment guides and support deployment.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience (Java 8 or above) with solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

• Hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.

• Knowledge of: CI/CD, Linux, Jenkins, Ansible, code quality scanners (like SonarQube), maven, monitoring tools (like Appdynamics, CloudWatch).

• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).

• Understanding of messaging systems (Kafka, IBM MQ).

• Experience with ORM frameworks (Hibernate, MyBatis).

• Nice to have: Exposure to cloud platforms AWS (EKS, Lambda), GCP, or Azure), containers (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Liberty).

• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
