Calimala.ai is revolutionizing the recruitment space with an AI-driven hiring platform, and we are seeking an experienced Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to join our client’s innovative tech startup in the UAE. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere on the globe, offering a flexible schedule and the chance to work on groundbreaking projects that integrate modern AI productivity tools. You will be tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade web applications featuring Ruby on Rails on the back-end and front-end frameworks like React or Hotwire. With an emphasis on quality, scalable architecture, and automated testing, this position will challenge your technical skills and push you to experiment with AI methodologies to accelerate development.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will partner with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver robust features from concept to production. You will be involved in managing the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring fast, safe, and automated deployments while continuously optimizing app performance and security. Your role includes active participation in architectural decisions and the technical strategy that shapes future application developments. With an AI-first culture, you will also leverage tools like ChatGPT and Cursor to generate boilerplate code, debug, and document your work more effectively.

Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of professional experience developing Ruby on Rails applications in production environments. A solid command of front-end frameworks and strong expertise in HTML/CSS is required. You should be well-versed with automated testing frameworks such as RSpec and Capybara, possess a deep understanding of RESTful API design, and be comfortable with tools like PostgreSQL, Sidekiq, and version control systems like Git. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Heroku, or Docker-based deployments is a plus.
