We are looking for an experienced and strategic litigator ready to take on a leadership role as Managing Attorney in our growing practice. You will lead our legal team, overseeing a group of skilled contract attorneys and paralegals, providing mentorship and driving the team to excel in delivering superior client results. This role requires a seasoned attorney with deep expertise in all phases of litigation—from discovery through trial—who is motivated to help expand the firm’s presence and reputation in business litigation. We are also looking for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative and team environment while still striving for individual accomplishment. As Managing Attorney, you’ll work closely with the firm’s principal to strategize on cases, craft winning legal arguments, and ensure each case is handled with precision and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities: • Manage fun and challenging litigation cases related to business and employment defense. • Oversee production from paralegals and legal cases being handled by outside contract attorneys. • Oversee case assignments and ensure proper distribution of workload across the team. • Conduct legal research, analysis, and develop case strategies. • Draft and argue motions, respond to discovery requests and conduct/defend depositions of witnesses. • Engage in settlement negotiations and mediations. • Serve as the primary attorney in civil trials and arbitrations. • Provide clients with comprehensive legal guidance on the potential risks and tactical options involved in pursuing litigation.

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. • Admission to the California State Bar with a clean disciplinary record. • Minimum of five years of litigation experience with a focus on business litigation and/or employment defense. • Proven track record of drafting and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, and serving as the first chair in civil trials. • Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and substantive law in the areas of business litigation and employment defense. • Proven ability to efficiently handle multiple cases and consistently meet deadlines. • Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably including managing a team of attorneys and legal staff. • Experience in overseeing case assignments and ensuring proper workload distribution.
