As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join our talented team and play a strategic role in shaping data platforms and driving technical excellence.

As a Lead Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for defining the architecture and leading the development of modern, cloud-native data solutions. You’ll guide a team of data engineers, provide technical leadership across projects, and partner with stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance data platforms. We expect candidates to be located in one of the following cities: Warsaw, Wroclaw, Lodz, Gdansk or Bialystok.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the architecture of scalable, secure, and cloud-native data platforms
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of data solutions from design to deployment
• Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, conducting code reviews and supporting their technical growth
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Architects, Product Owners, and DevOps Engineers
• Establish best practices for data ingestion, transformation, quality, and governance
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines (batch and streaming) and ETL/ELT workflows
• Lead initiatives for performance tuning, cost optimization, and platform scalability
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and enterprise security standards

Requirements

Ideally you have:

• Expert understanding of data modeling, data warehousing principles, and distributed data systems
• Strong programming skills in Python (or Scala/Java), with clean coding and reusable design patterns
• Deep experience with SQL performance tuning and optimization
• Proven track record of leading data engineering teams or playing a senior/architectural role
• Proficiency in modern ETL/ELT orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, dbt, AWS Glue)
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and their native data services
• Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Understanding data governance, quality frameworks, and secure data handling
• Experience in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices for data solutions
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable in Agile environments and experienced cross-team collaboration
• Upper-intermediate English or above

• Data Visualization: PowerBI, QuickSight
