As a Data Engineer, you will be part of a collaborative and agile environment where your ideas matter. You will design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and solutions that support data-driven decision-making. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Architects, and Software Engineers to create reliable, secure, and high-performing systems.

We expect candidates to be located in one of the following cities: Warsaw, Wroclaw, Lodz, Gdansk or Bialystok.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Work with structured and unstructured data from various sources
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Business Analysts to meet data requirements
• Implement data quality, data validation, and monitoring practices
• Participate in architecture and design discussions to build modern, cloud-native data platforms
• Maintain and optimize data storage solutions (data lakes, data warehouses)
• Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of data
• Support the deployment of machine learning models into production
• Continuously improve performance, reliability, and scalability of our data systems

Requirements

Ideally you have:

• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
• Solid programming skills in Python
• Deep knowledge of SQL, including query performance tuning and database optimization techniques
• Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines using modern orchestration tools (Apache Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric Pipelines and Dataflows)
• Experience in Azure cloud platform (ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Functions, Event Hub / Event Grid, Cosmos DB, SQL Database, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Spark (Databricks), Kafka or Azure Event Hub)
• Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and governance best practices (e.g., RBAC, data lineage, GDPR)
• Experience with data warehousing tools like Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse / Warehouse
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Upper-intermediate English or above

Nice to have:

• Data Visualization: Power BI (especially integration with Microsoft Fabric)
• Monitoring/logging tools: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics
• Familiarity with Delta Lake / Medallion Architecture
• Infrastructure as Code: Bicep
