Role Description

You will be solving complex challenges and maintaining our internal infrastructure, which handles over 6PB of Ceph storage and processes more than 60PB of monthly data traffic. Our systems manage over 300,000 service requests per second and stream over 500,000 Kafka messages per second.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Configure, automate, and test private cloud and remotely hosted infrastructure.
• Scale our infrastructure to meet growing demands.
• Ensure zero downtime across various environments and projects.
• Maintain high security and compliance standards.
• Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, redundancy, and rollback plans for critical infrastructure components.
• Monitor, audit, and configure alerting for infrastructure systems.
• Ensure systems are secure, compliant, and updated with the latest patches and protocols.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues and outages.
• Stay current with the latest infrastructure developments and tooling.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and servers.
• Hands-on experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Ansible or SaltStack.
• Proficiency in working with container systems like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Familiarity with databases, particularly MySQL and Redis-like key-value databases.
• Strong ability to prioritize and focus on high-impact work.

Nice to Have

• Experience with various Cloud providers.
• Background in maintaining custom object/block storage solutions.
• Experience with Kafka/Redpanda.
• Experience with RabbitMQ.
• Experience with HAProxy.
