BI Team Lead

The Role: The BI Team Lead will lead and inspire our BI team, driving the migration to Looker and AI-powered insights. This role combines hands-on business intelligence expertise with strategic leadership, focusing on IG's "Smart Business" data transformation strategy to make data accessible globally through self-service dashboards and AI agents.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic BI Leadership & Platform Migration: - Lead and mentor BI analysts, providing strategic direction and managing resource allocation.
  • Drive the planning and execution of the Looker migration, aligning BI initiatives with business objectives.
  • Champion AI-powered insights, co-pilots, and automated analytics, collaborating with Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering.
  • Establish and promote BI best practices, data visualization standards, governance frameworks, and self-service analytics adoption.
• Team Management & Organizational Development: - Manage talent development and strategic planning for the BI Analysts Chapter.
  • Foster organizational change by driving self-service analytics adoption and establishing scalable governance frameworks.
  • Develop team members' skills and careers, building leadership for a data-driven future.
  • Guide cross-functional squads in delivering measurable business value.
• Business Intelligence Excellence & Innovation: - Act as the center of excellence for analytics across key data themes: Business Intelligence, Operational Efficiency, Client Acquisition, and Client Experience.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable BI roadmaps that support IG's strategy.
  • Manage multiple priorities, ensuring timely delivery of critical dashboards and insights with high quality.
  • Champion business users' data capabilities through cutting-edge technologies.

Requirements:

• Experience: - 3+ years of BI development experience with strong expertise in dashboard creation and data visualization.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential with proven ability to mentor and develop talent.
  • Track record of establishing best practices, governance frameworks, or organizational change initiatives.
• Technical Skills: - Expert knowledge of Looker or similar BI tools, with experience driving platform migrations.
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modeling concepts, with experience on cloud data platforms like Google BigQuery.
  • Understanding of AI agents, co-pilots, and automated insights.
  • Deep understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced dashboard formatting and customization using HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and self-service analytics implementation.
